Well put and as I said in another thread: “Some are disappointed because it’s in the same spot but I believe it’s not the place that makes the fest fun, it’s the people and activities that make it fun and unique. It can be in bg every year but if the people and activities are there, it’s well worth the trip.”

LS fest was in bg every year and with what they do they always have a great turnout and now they had the funds to create one out west. Superfest up in Michigan always has a huge turnout and again same place every year. Sounds like cfest may be at bg because of what is provided in the location a lot of people agree. Yes a new location every now and then would be nice but I’m not going to see the scenery, I’m going to see friends, meet some new and old faces, and have fun. If scenery is more important than the festivities then cfest isn’t for you.

Hope one day cfest does go out west again while having one on the east side still. But only time will tell with that.

Moving around is one of the things that made CamaroFest unique and we haven't lost sight of that. For those who have followed this through the years... know it's always been tough to find the perfect hotel for night life coupled with a track to handle both drags, autox and car show simultaneously. And then re-invent the wheel with new contacts, personalities and different contracts at each new location.

Next, GM begins focus on 1LE and road track cars so we add that to the mix and it's been a huge addition to the fest but also complicates the hell out of things with two tracks now.

We actually had Vegas lined up last year and then they wanted 40k up front so we had to move to Arizona. Then the day before we sent the deposit LS Fest snagged our vacated dates in Vegas. Didn't want to compete with them so we took a chance and returned to Bowling Green where we found a huge local following and a one day drive from the East coast from Texas that just worked. Also, folks who make this location each year have created a pretty solid bong which is cool too.

We're building this event now instead of just flying by the seat of our pants each year. The experience is paying off so stay tuned and let's go along for the ride. More to come!!

Maybe that’s what family vacations are for....

From the looks of things these past few days with the hotels selling out so quickly it’s obvious CF8 is going to be the biggest yet. And that just doesn’t happen because Camaro enthusiasts want to take a road trip to a new venue. Mr Wyndham, mlee and their group have put in a HUGE amount of work to make CamaroFest a reality, and I appreciate their efforts tremendously. And asking them to put in all of that work again just to have a change of scenery is a bit much. LS Fest is a great example of how a car show/event should work - and they successfully have it at the same location each year. Now they’ve added a second location in Las Vegas to accommodate those on the left coast, and that may be something that can happen in the future. Anybody in that area willing to take on that huge responsibility? I’m sure Wyndham and mlee could give you some great pointers on how to make it successful.....
Big thanks to everyone who put this together. It’s a lot of volunteers who do the organization of this event all on their own time. They have found what is working and do what they can with it.

I don’t see why folks on the west side couldn’t find out what these volunteers do and organize one. It may become just like LS Fest!

Vegas?

If they settled on a location and time of year, planning becomes easier, people’s vacation planning is predictable, and those who have to put their vacations in can plan this event — that is a big win...

I personally go for the fun of seeing everyone and all the Camaros (well NCM is another very good reason too ;o)

I have to say were not looking forward to the ride, last year it started raining when we left and it poured going through Chicago and didn't let up until we were in Indiana. It was just nice to finally get to the hotel.
Big thank you to all the people involved in putting this event together we are looking forward to seeing everyone in July.

Vegas?
We have no problem organizing one and have done it before.

Just need $$. It will happen, just like saving up for a new car

Ya I was watching where that front was going and luckily scraped BG with a slight downpour. I got caught in a tiny cell early on and the rest of the trip was sunny after rush hour. Throughout the week and weekend both fronts from the north and south stayed where they were and that's why we had no wind and the temps remained steady.

Sounds like tradition going to cfest now, get rained on until every gets to the hotel lol.

Yep..I was a few hours behind Evil and was stuck in it the whole way down! Pulled over to check radar and the storms were just trailing right up my route.
