GM is unlikely to ever again put an engine that big into a production car of any type.

You could pick your Mustang or Shelby of choice and put it against this Z/28 (because the modern Charger has not got that much to offer.) Even if the Z/28 has to play the Black Hat villianmobile in the movie, who cares? It would be epic. I could write that script. Hello? Hollywood? Anybody? |

with all the remakes (even movies from the 90s are getting remade) I am surprised a movie like Bullitt was not remade. Hell they did gone in 60 seconds again |

Brad Pitt was supposed to do a Bullitt Rerun in 2007. They put it where it belongs, in the trash.
Steve McQueen was a real racer and gearhead. (See him in On Any Sunday) Brad Pitt would need CGI and stunt doubles.

I doubt he has the "tough and cool" quotient, but Patrick Dempsey could manage the driving part. I assume, though, that any modern production company would sh*t bricks if an actor tried to handle the driving -- and the insurance companies and underwriters wouldn't permit it...

My understanding is this new 427 uses the 6.2 liter block? It's not a big block like the 427 of the original Camaro? Can anyone enlighten me on this please. By the way, if I had the money I would get one for sure.

I watched [and helped] a brand new, no mileage, 1972 Z28 RS get a LS6 454 crate motor installed in 1972 at the then Sun Chevrolet in Miami. It was Rally Green/black and AWESOME.......exported of course and never seen again. |

It is an all aluminum small block that shares very few parts with the other LS# engines. The "big block" was last installed in trucks and had 8.1L of displacement. Not sure if it's still in production. EDIT: The Big Block died 5 years ago for trucks. Only Marine versions remain. The Big Block Chevy stopping being put into cars in 1976.
