Can Someone Shed Some Light On This?

I just confirmed my order with my dealer as my allocation is about to be pulled. Summit White, 6-Speed Manual, Polished Wheels, Exposed Carbon Fiber Hood, Floormats, Trunk Mat. When we went over the order he said GM's workbench was not showing the Exposed Carbon Fiber Hood Option? I have read that this is an option in multiple threads on this site, and have seen many that chose this option. Does anyone know if it is on constraint? Or maybe there is a glitch on his system, etc... If anyone knows the order option # or code for this option please let me know, and if anyone knows or has experienced this problem with their dealer please shed some light for me ASAP! Thanks!

B92 is the option code for the Exposed Hood and should be there. It was on the quick order guide and should be on the workbench.

thanks dealer called back and said it was there after about an hour of a system shutdown. guess the workbench was on the fritz today!

I would hardly call my dealer a douche. He knew about CRT and IBM as far as colors, and he knew the Exposed Hood was an option from his GM ZL1 brochure and packet, unfortunately it turned out the Workbench on his computer was down for a little while and had to be rebooted! I would not say that is his falt at all. But, before I knew the system was down I just wanted to make sure the Exposed Hood was not on constraint, etc... or something like that!

Either way I ordered the car and it is in as follows:

- Summit White
- 6-Speed Manual
- Exposed Carbon Fiber Weave Hood
- 5-Spoke Polished Aluminum Wheels

I see that you ordered the stripe package. Do you know if the stripe is a gloss Black or Gray, or Flat/Matte Black or Gray?

It depends on which you ordered.
If you ordered exposed insert you will get the gray stripe.
Only two choices. Black insert/Black stripe, or Exposed carbon insert with gray stripe.
In rice killers case he ordered the exposed so he will be getting the gray stripe by default.

The stripe is a low gloss black with the painted hood insert. I cannot say for certain about the stripe that you get with the exposed insert, I have not seen one. If I were to guess, I'd say that the stripe that goes with the exposed cf will have more gloss to it to match the insert. But..

Edit: Here is a pic of the stripe that goes with the painted hood insert. I see you ordered the Exposed CF, your guess is as good as mine on what that stripe will look like. Like I said, probably more gloss though, and from what I've heard, gray.

No pictures have been shown as of this writing of the exposed insert w/ stripe.

Leaves a lot to the imagination so to speak....
But the 'whiz' is telling you this... the exposed insert will be shown with the gray stripe probably before this day/week is out... Stay tuned.....
