The 2014 Corvette Stingray Seminar by C7 team at Sebring [35 min video]
Coutesy of corvetteblogger via GM Inside News, this clip is well worth 35 minutes of your time.
The Corvette Team’s annual seminar to Corvette owners and enthusiasts at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring included a very special guest – the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe. Team Members Tadge Juechter, Harlan Charles and Bowling Green Assembly Plant Manager Dave Tatman each spoke about the new 7th Generation Corvette and then answered questions from the crowd. It was interesting to hear Tadge say what I am sure most already feel as the C6 instantly became obsolete on 01.13.13.
Anyone see a video of the Q & A the next morning they referred to?

I found a couple of very interesting things on there:
1) Tadge and Dave built the last two C6 engines. 2) from the inferences, I don't hear a lower model stripper C7 in the works, 5.5L motor or even the TTV-6 rumored for the ATS-V/CTS. 3) Removable top is 10 pounds lighter according to Harlan and the hood significantly so as well. I really hope that we're pleasantly surprised by a great curb weight number. 4) They're being awfully coy and dragging feet on the numbers. Hopefully they are sandbagging big time and it'll actually be closer to 500 than 450. Yeah, it's only 10% but many people would be very glad to hear it. |

I picked up on a few other tidbits as well:
1) The Cyber Grey show car is a 2LT trim level. That fits right into my desire list. 2) By calling the C6 obsolete, is Tadge making it harder for dealers like McMulkin in N.H. to sell off their remaining 200-plus 13s? |

plus Kerbeck, Criswell and all the other mega-inventory ones. But they'll all get sold eventually. Just going to be some painful discounting for the dealers. If you're in the market for a 'Vette right now, there's not a better time for an 'obsolete' C6. Win the lottery tonight? There'll be a 427 'vert in my driveway by the end of next week. Along with a few other toys

The group seemed very relaxed and loose, wonder if they had a some Sebring libations? I bet Tadge heard that coming out of his mouth and thought ....oh crap! I think if you look at Harlan he looked a bit surprised.

It was a faux pas . But he said it and that means it's on YouTube in this day & age. Can you damage control or spin that to make it sound better? No, not really. He'll just have to live with some pissed off dealers for the next few months probably
