Why are they rehashing the LT1 moniker?

Are there not enough letter/number combinations out there that they have to call this new engine the same name as the engine that was in mid-90s Camaros?

I agree, I think it shoulda been called LX1 or LR1

I don't care but I do find it funny that this will be the third time they have made an LT1 if memory serves correct.

I thought it was dumb when they did it last time. Most people though were not aware there was an LT-1 back in the day though at that time.

you would think with a whole alphabet and nubmers they could make unique engine codes but the LS6 was a repeat of the Ls-6. LS7 was a repeat as well if I remember right.

I think there are a couple more as well they repeated.
