Tires Cracked on newly delivered 18 1LE

(( False Alarm --- Just walk away from this thread.... Tires are not cracked ))
After cleaning the tires and looking closely with a flashlight there aren't any cracks.
I f-cked up.

Not many talking about this.
(Summer only tires).
At just over 100 miles, my tires are all cracked, the car is riding like Shit.
I am a member of the Corvette Forum, I have a 12 Grand Sport Vette.
Folks over in that forum are going silly with cracked summer tires.
This is really stupid.
I'm ready to do everything it takes to return this 1LE back to the dealer.
Looking online, there is not one tire manufacturer making an all season or non summer "only" tire in the correct size for this car.
BS.
How about my Rotors and Calipers?
Are those damn things seasonal as well?
Do I need to remove and take them in my house and wrap them up in warm electric blankets?
Why not include four of those dinky Doughnut spare tires?
Yes,, after the OEM tires fail at 100 miles, we can at least put them on and take the family too Pizza Hut.

Read about people having that problem on the Z06s. I thought mostly were due to the early cars sitting in QC or something in the cold for an extended period of time.

Lesson learned: do not read rants while drinking coffee at work! Made quite a mess with this one.

My recommendation is get 295 nitto motivo on all four corners. That way you have a winter set up that can be rotated and will last a lot more Millage then the sc3’s

Yes, Rant,, whatever. You made me almost piss myself Gabhart. I'm into a bottle of JD right now before sunrise. Coffee is good this time of morning even if half the cup is on your chest.
I read GM's service bulletin after finding out about this BS browsing the forum.
Ok, I grabbed my nuts and said screw it, I'll lift the car and remove the wheels. I'll keep them warm come November for Winter Storage.
Except, my butt was feeling different the day after I took delivery of the car.
I wrote it off as maybe the suspension & tires needed to settle in.
The car was giving feedback as you would get with a pebble stuck in the tread of one or two tires.
" Anxiety " in the gut. Waiting for the pebble to fly out of the tire or tires.
No pebble flew out.
For the hell of it, I went about and held a light to all four tires.
With the car sitting, looking at the tops of the tires, I have at least two cracks on each tire.
I'm not going too push the car up and down the driveway to look for more cracks. ( no doubt they're all around the tires )
The temp hasn't been gone below 50 degrees for my journey of 100 miles.
I phoned my dealer and scored an appointment at the end of the week.
F-cker,,,, Service writer came about with an attitude over the phone.

Take it back to the dealer. They will replace the tires under warranty unless it has been well below freezing and you've been driving the car in those temps.

Were you unaware of what "summer only" tires are before you bought the car?

I was thinking "Summer Only Tires" meant driving the vehicle during summer only temperatures..

No issue.

I've always put my performance vehicles away from Nov - April.

The dealership never mentioned removal of tires, climate control only, and cracking.

The tires are all cracked.

The build sheet states 9/11.

I picked her up last week only two days off the Car Carrier.

These tires have never seen cold weather.

At this moment, I can't find myself to blame.

You're either ignorant or a troll. You posted a picture of your tire on another thread and then deleted it. It didn't show cracks but actually showed lines from the molding and manufacturing process that they all have.

Also I'm pretty sure you can store your tires in below freezing temps i.e. in your garage. They crack when it is below freezing and the tires are stressed.

Just FYI. These tires can get marred / scratched / dented - use the word of choice, very easily especially when hot. They are reduced tread depth and quite soft.

This is from a Goodyear bulletin on the Eagle F1 G2 tires from the Gen 5 ZL1 & 1LE. The Michelin SS, SC, SC2, Pirelli Trofeo R, etc. all are in the same boat. Here is the original Goodyear bulletin. Are your tires like this?

When I was thinking of a Z28, especially leftover ones that were marked down by over $20K, many had just sat for months and months (and months and months) out in the cold (and heat) at various dealers. Many had damaged tires, however, that was not GM nor Pirelli's fault for poor inventory management by those dealers. There was a rash of C7 Z06's that were stored outside at a rail yard for a while, think it was Toledo, OH, during a very cold time period. Many tires cracked during loading to ship out to final destination. Matter of fact, when the Camaros were made in Oshawa, they used to stop making the 1LE / ZL1's for a number of months each winter to keep from this.
