Front Aero Panel
Does the Front Aero Panel come with your car when you order it? I've read that GM offers a front license plate bracket for $15, and a Front Aero Panel for $95. I wasn't sure if you have to choose any options to get the Front Aero Panel or if they send you both automatically.
Unfortunately, I live in New York at the moment and need to have a front license plate. I wasn't sure if GM will send me both of the brackets/panels automatically in this state or if I need to "order" the Front Aero Panel separately Here's a photo of the Front Aero Panel, I believe the other license plate bracket sits higher than this, and that it drills into your car

The aero panel is included on all Stingrays. The $15 front plate holder is a mandatory option for cars sold in states requiring the front plate.

Ok thanks, the front plate won't be already drilled into the car when it arrives right?
Just want to make sure that there is no drilling or anything in the front of the car.

Nope, no drilling needed for either one! Both install using a pair of plastic twist-lock fasteners that latch into the grill itself. Easy on, easy off!

I got it and I'm in a "no front plate state".
] Thank goodness since I'm registered in TX ..... a front plate state.

Use the Aero Panel to mount your License Plate, period. Here is a pic of my C7 with the Front Plate. There are threads out there that explain how to do it. It's as simple as Pie. I'm in CA, a Front Plate State. |

Ok great, now I feel a lot better.
By the way your car looks FANTASTIC, even with the Aero Panel!

I hate having to put on a Front Plate, but it doesn't look too shabby. The Aero Panel isn't "intended" to be used as a Plate Holder according to GM, but when you take the front "CORVETTE" cover off the bracket, there are four small "dimples" that coincidentally line up with the holes in the License Plate. Use an Awl or drill holes, add four screws and you're in business. You can go to Pep Boys and get a Urethane Surround for the Plate. It fills in the panel and has a border that minimizes the footprint of the Plate. You bend the Plate slightly in the middle to match the front of the Car. I'm picking up my Vanity Plates this week. STLTH C7... I had the stock Z51 Rims Powder Coated to give the Car the Stealthy look, Gray, Black and Red Calipers that match the Competition Seats. I guess I'm into themes. If you need any help with mounting the Plate, PM me or Post a Thread. Many here have already done it. |

You are very lucky. In the two Plate States, you used to get a "fix it" ticket if the Police decided to pull you over and issued a Citation.
No more. Now you can fined up to $200, even in the Free State of Texas. Just like "Red Light Cameras", Revenue Enhancement comes first. Twenty Years ago when I owned a C4 Convertible, I didn't put the Front Plate on it and I never had a problem. Today is a different story. |

The front plate is $15 but the front aero panel is almost $100. What is the difference?

All C7 Corvettes come with the Aero Panel. No need to buy one after market. The Aero Panel has the CORVETTE Vanity Cover. It's two pieces and the front CORVETTE Vanity Cover Panel is removable from the mounting Bracket that attaches to the Grill. Take off the front CORVETTE cover, drill four small holes in the Bracket and put on the License Plate. Viola, you're Legal! |
