Exclamation What It's Like to Get T-Boned

I got t-boned in late November and wrote off my '10 2LT/RS. My mind must have wandered while driving and I made a left turn at a light when it was not safe to do so (totally my fault, and I feel really stupid about it).

Anyway, I had my dash cam going and it recorded the accident in case anyone wants to see what it's like to be in such a collision:

The truck that hit me was probably going about 35 to 40 mph (about 60 km/h). Everyone was totally fine after the accident -- thank Nader for modern car safety! The squealing you hear after the accident is the side window airbags deflating, I believe.

So, that all totally sucked, but, on the bright side, I'm getting a new '14 2SS/RS in a week or two.

Pretty cool video. That guy was really concerned for your safety! You will enjoy the '14 2SS.

Looks like you didn't yeild at the green light and couldn't see him due to the opposite direction yielding for their turn. Sucks that happened but glad nobody was hurt.

Yeah that dude must have been an american, everyone here thinks that it was done on purpose when there's an accidentI thought Canadiens were more reasonable, and I could see how you made the mistake of making that turn,in situations like that I always pull up enough to see that there is no oncoming traffic before attempting a turn

Wow man!!! You had time to think about that one before it hit.

When I saw your title I immediately remembered when I competed in that demolition derby. Getting T boned multiple times makes you sore thee next day.

Or he could just be scared sh*tless. I don't think he should have acted that way either though.

That bastard didn't even try to brake.

Oh well public insurance so it shouldn't wreck your premiums.

BTW congrats on the new SS.

No one has mentioned this but the guy in the truck was in the turn lane but then veered out into the current lane without signaling his turn. Guy in the truck is at fault in this accident.

That was a blind situation, that's for sure. Even with his big truck, that guy couldn't be seen coming up the right lane. The low point of view in these Camaros can be a liability!

I've been hit before, and while I was rather annoyed, I still got out and asked if the other driver was OK, if she wanted me to call for help, etc. It takes a special kind of disgruntled/pissed-off person to be aggressive after an accident like dude was in the video. It almost looks like he saw the camera and decided to back off and chill out!
