Unhappy My SS' First Accident :'(

So.. the time has come. My 2012 2SS Camaro got into its first "accident" -- with a ladder. And the ladder won.

The more detailed story: I walked into my garage on Tuesday, June 3rd and went to get into my other (daily car) to drive to work. I looked over though to admire my Bumblebee Camaro like I always do and noticed a tall, heavy ladder was leaning on the passenger side of the car. My heart sank. Apparently over night, something gave loose to the bolts in the wall where the ladder was hanging and it came crashing down on my SS. :-( Now my baby is injured with multiple dent wounds.

Pic: (it's hard to photograph dents, FYI) but you can kind of see what I'm talking about.

The damage would roughly be around $2k but since one of my best friends works for a body shop, I'm getting it done for $1k. The dents are right in the body line so they can't simply pop them out. They have to repaint that area which is what I'm most upset about. :'(

Hoping for a better week...

~M

Oh bummer, the car looks very well taken care off.
Your insurance should cover it!
Good luck.

I believe a good paintless dent removed (pdr) guy could get that out. I would check before you send to a body shop.

yea I'd check with a paintless dent person. the body shop rarely does PDR themselves... so they are inclined to say it can't be done.

even if the PDR isn't perfect, it will likely be close enough that the body shop can just skim coat some filler and repaint. less evasive and overall price should be less.

PDR $150-$200
fill, paint, blend $300-$500

then assuming you have a $500 deductible, you might be better off paying it yourself and keep it off a carfax. and who's not to say the PDR repair might be fine.

check this one out...

PDR can't get it out because there is structural support right behind there.

I had something similar happen to me. I use to work on a golf course and before my car even had 5k miles on it a ball from the 9th fairway hit my car right above the drivers windows and left a similar dent. It sucked.

If it's just a dent with no scratches look into dent removal. Plenty of people will come right to your driveway and remove dents. My dad had 3 removed off his z71 for 120$. Better than a $500 deductible
