New Texas Driver Laws

AAA just put together a nice write up on a few new TX laws going into effect on Sep 1, 2013. One of which makes it a misdemeanor and up to a $200 fine for not displaying both front and rear plates!

Actually, I thought the rule was the person that you didn't wave at would come on here and bitch and then complain that they want to sell their car?

I'm originally from Michigan and they STILL DO NOT have a front license plate, NO emissions, and NO inspections. I remember when they got rid of the emissions as a kid. They reported that after years of emissions testing there was NO appreciable difference in the air quality and therefore were dropping all emission testing. And that was back in the late 1970's when we still had LEADED gas for sale! TAKE THAT TREE HUGGERS!

I’m bothered more by the pull over/slow down law. It’s a good thing but 20 MPH under the limit? Really? That’s going to F-up Austin’s traffic even more! It's not bad enough we have the 3rd worst traffic in the entire nation! That’s going to be a cash cow for a lot of towns. People are going to lose their licenses over that one. Why yes officer, I would love a double order of points and fines with that........ Ah crap...

The move over law has been on the books for 10 years.....and yes 20mph is acceptable! Sorry you're going to be inconvenienced by it but the law is there for the safety of police and fire.
