thanks for the clarifciation, but my only question I still have is are the V8/V4 Valves specific to the NPP or do they come on non NPP C7s.
Thanks again |

The V4/V8 valves are on ALL Stingrays. They are located just above and in front of the rear axle. They are needed to cancel out some odd tones generated by the 4-cylinder mode, and are open at all times in V8 mode.

Exhaust
I bought my 2014 A6 last Wednesday with 2150 miles! I have the window sticker and see that it did not come with the $1200 NPP option. The previous owner had installed a Billy Boat FCOR-0610 system. This brings up a few questions.
Are the valves to deal with the V4 mode separate from the NPP valves? I assume that the valves on this system are for the V4 mode? If not, and the valves are to emulate the NPP, would the car have the wiring and programming to switch it? The car is loud and V8/V4 switch is very noticeable in the sound. What can I expect? |

You are correct - the V4 valves are separate from the NPP valves ans ALL Stingrays have them. The V4 units are located above and forward of the rear axle, the NPP units are located to the rear of the mufflers, and can actually be seen by looking into the exhaust tips. As your car did not have the NPP system from the factory, you will not have the wiring and programming for it. As a result, what you hear is what you get.
