It would be great if we can get a response about this issue. I've been to the dealership once to fix this but that didn't help at all and I've to go back soon since it's getting worse. |

The moderators haven't posted the 2nd poll yet. They will select 3 or so questions to be considered and set up the poll. I'd guess next week some time they will do this.

maybe this 20 page thread would help get some attention, along with the other handful of discussions on the topic.

My dealer replaced my torque converter but it seems like that's not going to last if something else is causing it. This is the first time I've ever had transmission issues in a new car.

Absolutely would like to know about the problems with the transmission. Not just the shudder, but the overall inadequate performance and lack of attention by Chevrolet. I have not been able to receive proper service for my new vehicle.

Caddies definitely. Even have seen some reports of the ATS-V with a shudder (which I'm not sure even has AFM). On this forum we have a handful of LGX guys having the issue and a couple of 2.0T guys too. So that pretty much eliminates AFM being the root cause. The latest theory I've heard is the slip tables are probably too aggressive (for MPG saving) resulting in wear on the TC itself. I personally feel it's a combo of that and poor design/QC on the TCs as well. I've heard from several sources now they are on a 3rd revision of the TCs for the 8L90.

Shame this seems to be wider than just Camaros (not that it'd be a good thing if it was only Camaros). I saw Silverados mentioned in one of the links in a previous post in this thread.
If it's a PWM or other software issue (likely related to the mpg matter) I wonder if the aftermarket is working on any solutions. We've already got the Auto-blip device and there's at least one aftermarket magneride controller, so I wouldn't see this as being an impossible problem to work around somehow. I'll have to keep an eye out for a similar issue and possible fixes elsewhere. Especially if it starts showing up in the A10's as well. While I don't have any skin in the AT game today, I may unfortunately be forced to at some future date. Norm

This thread got quiet so...
Dear al and gm engineers, while this post has 36 replies, this one below has over 300. When will you take ownership of this issue and stop throwing gm money away with transmission flushes and torque converter swaps? Camaro brand loyalty is getting crushed by this issue. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=470624 |

GM probably purchased a huge batch of TQ convertors and are just waiting for the supply to run out before they install the corrected fixed versions.
I'm thinking that whatever "poll" the moderators select for the next question will not address the transmission issues. That would look bad for GM and I'm sure "AL" has been instructed by GM to not go in that direction. |

How widespread is this problem?
Is this issue limited to just the Camaro or is the Corvette also seeing the same problem? For that matter, is it even limited to the front engine/rear drive cars? Norm
