Thanks. I had 2 weeks scheduled off to go to Indy and when those plans changed, I kept 1 week and "gave" the other one back to take later in year.

Regs require that I am offline, off-site (from work) for 9 days including 2 weekends so no work calls for me!

Good evening all my accident nightmare continues. Ever since the accident the door has been rubbing the fender near the bottom of it to the point you could hear a loud click. Jackie went out this morning to go to work and that click got worse and bent the fender in about an inch. Now every time the door opens the fender gets bent more and now is completly ruined.

Yesterdays estimate was $800 less than the shop I went to because they wanted to repair the fender rather than replace it so they did not have to blend into the hood. We called the shop we went to and he said I want to put a new fender on and I know you want one too but tell the insurance co that I will attempt to repair it and ask for an adjustment if I cannot "wink wink".

After this mornings fiasco Jackie called the claims adjuster to say we will accept their judgement to repair versus replace but we are going to use our shop for the repair. Now the claim rep tells her our insured has a completely different account of the accident then we do. At this point we have had it and we called our insurance co and filed a claim on our policy and we are going to let them fight with the other co as to who is to blame and who will pay.

So now tomorrow my insurance co is going to send an adjuster to our house for estimate number 3. He told us that he will then fax it to the shop we chose to do the repair and we can have it fixed as soon as they can get it in. At this point there is no debate about replacing the fender as it definitely cannot be fixed now. I think I can get it in the shop within the next day or two.

The one thing that bothers us is the lack of responsibilty people have regarding their actions over what is actually a small $1700 insurance claim in the grand scheme of things. My wife and I are responsible people and if we make a mistake and cause damage to someone elses properly we own up to our responsibilty to make things right. I cant understand why more people can't feel the same way and do the right thing when something happens. Sorry for the long rant I just want to get this over with and get my car back to normal.

Water rocket pack meeting went great. I always tell the boys and the Den leaders to tell their kids that they can bring brother and sisters along and they can launch the rockets too. We had mostly our Cub Scouts but a few brought siblings. Everybody got good and wet, which is what the kids like.

I too am sorry you are having to go thru this. You are right tho. A lot of people will do most anything to escape accepting responsibility for their own actions. It's a sad commentary on our society. There are some bright lights here and there. These few bright lights give me hope. It's just too bad there aren't more of them.

Zandron, sorry this has turned into such a trial.

Jeff, those wheels look great! Your whole car is beautiful. I like the headlight covers. Is that a heritage grill? Is that Vinyl or paint on the center line leading to the bowtie? It looks really great!

Thanks Sky Man - I'm not all that heartbroken; There's plenty of stuff to do out this way.
