700rw with AFM and A8 possible?
I want to have my cake and eat it too. I really love the way this car drives and it stays in 4 cyl mode a lot where I live. I have been tracking it and am averaging just under 20mpg. I drive it about 300 miles a week so mileage does matter to me. I am wondering if you guys think it would be possible to get over 700rw with the stock bottom end while retaining the AFM. I know Comp has some cams out there that retain the AFM and are worth 40rw on motor. I am wondering if a cam would still have the down low grunt and upgrading the AFM valves to a 3" system would keep it engaged as much as it is now. If I could keep the car as docile as it is right now and pick up 300rw it would be the perfect car.
Here is the plan. Ported TB/Intake Comp AFM cam 32% fuel lobe/ springs/ PR's Ported heads ECS S/C 10 to 12 lbs Headers back to the stock muffler, keep AFM but upsize to 3" Catch can system 160* T-Stat Plugs/Wires CPR LSFS LS7 lash cap Meth Tune

Anything more than 650 RWHP and your pistons are living on borrowed time. Other than that, yes this setup should make 700+ rw.

Pistons are a concern. I may just drop some forged replacements in when it is time to turn it up. I would be happy with 650rw for a little while.
