CHECK IF THE TOP IS IN 100% WORKING CONDITION!
There was probably work done to it, but I would put the top up and down a couple times and also drive it at high speeds up and down.

If the car is truly fixed...that is a damn good deal.

How would I check to see if it was tuned?

Dealer will tell you if it is or isn't and get it in writing. If the title is attached to a lemon I'd try to get it down to 26 regardless of fixed or not.

That's a good price but make sure you test drive it first. If you can deal with the branded title, go for it!!

IMO, you really need to drive this before you buy it. The convertibles DO have noise, some people say it's a lot, some people it doesn't bother (I was one of those).
They told you it was 'fixed', so the wind noise issue was fixed according to who? The tech? The service manager?
What if you get it and the noise level isn't acceptable?
I'm definitely not trying to rain on your parade.
And for what it's worth the extended warranty WILL NOT cover anything on that top except for the mechanism failure (if it covers that, make sure). It won't cover any adjustments, leaks etc.
If you get it to SC and the noise isn't to your liking, you will have trouble at a local dealer trying to get them to do anything about it since another dealer has already worked on it for the same issue. The local dealer will be more than happy to charge you for it, but they won't address the top for free, even though you just bought it.
All things to consider, I wish you the best because the convertibles are a blast.

There were a number of California lemon returns that I looked at (misc electrical issues) and avoided. They were going for much cheaper than comparable cars with clean titles, but there's a reason for that.
this.

First I have never heard of a buy back becasue of the wind noise.... nor would I expect GM to buy back becasue of it. I have owned several NON-HARDTOP vert and all have some level of wind noise.
Now the real culprit is probably the top issues that others have mentioned.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE educate yourself on this, search on it, plenty of topics on this. Not to say it was not fixed, but I would get the VIN and call Customer Service and get the real story on the car..... I would not trust the dealer.

Go to the convertible section of C5 and get to know the people in their, they have tons of experience on what to look for.

I wouldn't buy that car.... I think there's just to many questions about it. Good price, but maybe it's to good to be true.

+1.

Just make sure no tune - and I would want that in writing. If tuned then I'd walk.

I thought you always needed a tune if putting on performance headers?? I never got them because of possible codes being thrown (fails emissions) and they were not suggested, nor required for my build.

I'd buy a new Vert if at all possible. Sometimes deals are just not meant to be.

Long tubes, yes. Shorties, no. I went w/ the ARH shorties which did give me slight performance gains, better tone, doesn't require a tune and did not invalidate my warranty.

When I pay her off or the warranty is done I'll tune, put on LT's and possibly supercharge.
