Jesus is the C7 that much lighter?

I looked up the curb weights listed for my 2SS at 3685 and I have a sunroof wich probably puts me close to 3700. The C7 is listed at 385lbs lighter dam thats alot of weight. I knew they were lighter but I didnt think that much lighter.

The C7 uses massive amounts of lightweight materials, including aluminum, in it's structure, it also doesn't have a back seat at all.

The Camaro could easily be that light, but it would end up costing just as much, if not more, than the C7.

LOL and the Camaro almost has no back seat at all.

Aluminum frame and carbon fiber add up to a lot of weight loss..................and $$

I asked Jesus. He said "Si".

Anyone planning on stripping their car for weight reduction, mainly the rear seats, to see what diffirence it makes?

that's right. the c6 z06 frame was aluminum. All C7's frame's are aluminum, which Chevrolet claims saves 99 pounds. It's also almost a foot shorter than the Camaro.

well...the Camaro has back seats, just not legroom.

It used to be double the difference.

Different cars. Camaros lack of weight is pretty impressive.

Funny thing is going by fast times to fast times, the C7's are barely any quicker. Makes you wonder...

The 6th gen Camaro has alot of aluminum framing now too. That's how it got so light!

This

The corvette is a physically smaller car so its lighter I've seen 3300 for c7 base, and I've seen 1ss on scales at 35xx so 200-300 lbs difference with such a Different car is outstanding
