Road Trip

Hey People, glen from Cali here.
I bought a C7 out in N.H. and am thinking of driving it back its over 3000 miles. I was just wondering if anyone has made the trip cross country in a brand new stingray!! Thank you.

I read a thread where a guy picked up in Atlantic City, and drove back to Arizona. Don't recall his name though. Said he took it easy the first 1500 miles for a proper break-in, then had a little fun. I believe he said he got the estimated MPG on the trip too.

Picked up mine yesterday. Followed manufacturer recommendations for first couple hundred miles. I took country roads, stayed below 50mph, varied my shifts and speed, kept RPM's below 4000. I varied drives modes as well. Total miles 335.

We picked up our Stingray at Kansas City, MO. and drove back to Grapevine, AR about 50 miles south of Little Rock. We had 500 miles on the car when we got home. We drove on some interstate hwys. and some back roads as well. While on the freeway we changed gears often from 5th to 7th. to vary the RPM's. Have had some foul weather since then so we have not been in the car much since then. The car is great and we look forward to some better weather to rack up more miles.

Thanks for all the feed back, I'll be making my decision soon. If I do drive it back it will be in mid December.

I've been thinking about doing the museum delivery (Bowling Green, KY) and driving back to NYC. It's about 870mi, but seems worth it. Obviously, you've got quite a ways more to go than 870mi, 1KUIKC7, but I feel it's a nice way of becoming familiar with the car as well as breaking it in. However, I'd say that you should try to get a front nose cover for the journey. In addition, I'd map out what gas stations you plan to stop at so as to ensure you're continuously using premium fuel. Good luck, bud.

I had a 300 mile trip in October from the dealer in Idaho to my Tacoma, WA home. It rained most of the way. Typical for the NW in fall. Your challenge will be snow. I trust you'll head south on I-95 and work your way to I-10 for the westerly portion. Not the shortest, but the safer route. I got navigation on mine and it provides current weather data satellite imagery as well as storm warnings.

I've done the Museum Delivery 4 times, from Ky to CA, more than 3,000 miles each time - no problems.
