My grandpa always said "never buy it unless you got the cash"
His son (my daddy) always said "never buy it unless you can pay for it in 36 months" I always agreed with my daddy until I bought this ZL1 "48 months" My son has his sites on a 17' ZL1, I know he's gonna need 60 months. BTW my grandpa never had anything cool.........or owed a nickel.

Personally, I prefer to buy the car. While I can "change" up cars, at least I then have equity in the car prior to trading it in/selling it outright.
I am very close to paying off my SS, so I will probably just trade it (because I'm lazy) and order a Z. I didn't think I'd get another Camaro, but the new Z is hard to fight. I'm going to look to test drive a 6th gen SS later this summer to make sure I like the body shape though as I love the overall shape of my 5th gen. All the discussion of "what I do with my money..." is hilarious. People will buy what they want, regardless of the cost, and how the cookie crumbles is how it crumbles. If someone who makes 40k a year wants to buy a Z, who are you to tell them they can't? If they want to get a high interest rate and spend a large % of their monthly income on a payment....that's up to them. But they also only have themselves to blame when they lose the car and their credit rating goes to the gutter.

It's kind of stupid when the title of this thread is "Who is going to buy or lease" but the poll is for incom. Who gives a crap about what each of us makes. You could put down what ever you want on that. Just put the correct poll and we can dicuss the reason for leasing or buying. I myself prefer buying because I keep cars for longer than the leases go for. Also I don't want to lose the money that I put down on the car. I have always had equity in my vehicles and that's how I am able to get what I want and keep the wife happy and that's what it's all about. Happy wife happy life.

The reason for income is simple, i hear all these people saying they are getting one and being that the avg income in the US is less then the car cost how are people getting them. Hence are they leasing or buying!

I leased my first Camaro because after a string of bad experiences with GM products I wanted to be able to walk away from it if it was junk. I leased the current one because I wanted to get into a gen6 but couldn't wait. I'm leaning toward buying a gen 6 1LE, ZL1 or Z/28, but it will depend on a few things. By 2018 we should have a some good reports on the long term issues with the LT1 and 4 and a year of A10 reviews. I really don't want to keep leasing but also don't want to get stuck with a lemon.
