Just bought my first car, it is a V6 Camaro. What should I expect honestly regarding reliability and the choice I made. As of now I'm very happy with the choice, but any decent tips on maintaining a new engine other than scheduled oil changes and simple stuff??? Much appreciated!

I mean, any car made in the last 10 years is going to be decently solid, but the power plant in Camaros is awesome for its reliability. There are a lot of 5th gens rolling around well past the 100,000 mile mark with nothing but occasional oil changes, and the LGX and LT1 should not be too different. Even people who hate Camaros want our engines under their hood because they are pretty much the gold standard when it comes to dependability. They're used in a wide range of applications from fleet vehicles to crate engines put into stunt cars for Hollywood movies that get beat on 24x7. I think you have a better chance of your car getting eroded away by the wind after a few millennia while the engine stays in one piece as an artifact for some future race to discover, lol.

Can't speak for the Gen 6, but my 2012 is almost 5 years old now with 65,000 miles. Only had two issues- engine misfiring at about 40,000 miles which GM covered under a special recall circumstance (turns out the engine needed a "top engine cleaning" which I got a letter from GM randomly saying that certain Camaros might have the issues and they'd cover it) and just had to have a fuel injector replaced at 64,000 miles (GM also volunteered to cover it even though it was out of warranty). Other than that, the car is amazing and had no other issues.
I would (and likely will because the 6th Gens are unbelievable) buy another Camaro in a heartbeat. They're amazing cars and for me at least, GM has stood by their products.

A great thing if you have OnStar is that you can call them if you get a check engine light and they can tell you what the code says in 2 minutes, pretty nifty.

Enjoy your car and try not to worry about reliability. Have a good service department (you should anyway no matter what car you own) and there's nothing to worry about.
