Please help me fit!!!

Hi guys. This is my first post here.

So I am saving up to purchase a new C7, but there is one thing holding me back! I do not fit! I mean and its not even close. I am 6'6" and I tried 3 different Stingrays now just to make sure. I have monitored all of the posts regarding the power seat tricks- moving forward all the way, putting seat down to lowest setting, moving it back all the way, reclining, etc. I would say I need at least 3 inches lower. I fit comfortably with the top off, but If I put my head back, the roll bar hits the middle of the back of my head. I just feel this would be a bad thing in a rear end collision.

Anyways, how much room do you think I could gain? Anyone know any shops that do custom work for this sort of thing? Do you think the competition sport seats will help at all? Thanks so much. I am determined to get this car!

Buy a Convertible, I'm serious. If it's anything like my old C4 Convertible, there is more headroom with the Top Up than in the Coupe.

When you are sitting behind the wheel, are you staring at the Windshield Header? Where is the Seat Headrest placement, your upper neck or directly behind your Head?

I am 6'3" and I have a tall torso. In the C4 Convertible I had to lean the seat back a little more than I would have liked so I could look forward without the Header getting in my line of sight.

Not sure what else you can do. The seat can't lower any more than it does.

You might consider an aftermarket racing seat. I can't speak from personal experience, but from what I have read on other car enthusiast forums, you can typically gain some lowering with an aftermarket seat/seat bracket. You loose the nice electric controls...but once you set the seat where you need it...how often is it moved?

Additionally, I'm not sure if you can order the competition sport bucket seats yet...but the specs on those may provide a lower position as well. Probably worth asking about at your dealer.

Are you thin?

I am 6'4" and was 250 lbs when I first sat in one(still fit pretty well), but I am now 220 and fit much better. Not sure if I'm actually siting lower but I feel like I have much more room now. I'm guessing I gained a good inch or so of headroom removing some extra padding I was sitting on .

I've been thinking about how some big people fit and others don't. When I got my first Corvette, a C4, on my first trip I was uncomfortable and my left leg was getting numb. I realized it was the fat wallet in my rear pocket. I'm on my sixth Corvette, and all of them have been very comfortable - without a bulging wallet. I wonder if that is part of the problem?

Look at the bright side.
After you pay for the car-the wallet won't be as fat and you'll be comfortable.
