Battery tender similar to the one I use for my Corvair during the winter. Nothing less and nothing more.

I have been told that it is the advanced "CTEK" unit.

They sell for approx. $85 on Amazon.

It is a great battery reconditioner, charger and tender to keep it 100%.

If it is a CTEK, they are excellent. They come with optional connectors so that you can use it through a "cig" plug if it is live with the ignition off, or alligator clips for direct connection to battery or pig tails that can be permanently attached to the battery. If you do the latter (which is what I did with my XTS) all you then do is open the protective cover on the end of the pig tails quick connector and connect the CTEK matching plug. It is computer controlled, can be left on indefinitely if you are storing your car or just to fully charge the battery.

IMHO, it's a must-have. CTEK makes a great product.

We ordered it with our 13 ZR1, and love it. Plugs in the cigarette lighter in console, and is excellent. Yes, you can get it cheaper elsewhere, but it just isn't the same, and a nice option for the car. Plus it has the flags on the charger
Order it

As the battery is under the rear deck, the battery protection package allows you to plug into a battery port without having to access the battery. A must have for me.

Poo. Maybe I should have got it. I have the battery tender plus now but I can see the ease of not having to access the battery

I ordered the Ctek 3300 plus the cigarette lighter adapter off of Amazon.

I plan to plug into the cigarette lighter outlet in the cargo area right by the battery. It appears that is GM wanted us to do.

According to the dealer, the one that comes with the option plugs into the cig light and you can still get it after the fact. I will decide if I need this particular one after I have my vette.

$100 as an option and have it appear on your orig window sticker... or $84 via shopchevyparts.com as an accessory (plus add shipping/tax).
I got it on my order.

All C7s come with the 'live' accessory plug in the 'trunk' whether you ordered the battery protection package or not. If you have a CTEK or similar unit you can just use it through that accessory plug to keep your battery in top shape.
