the governor limit 155 mph??? that's weird cause a friend of mine test drove one of the camaros that came to Dubai and he hit 280kmh that's 173 mph is that mean that the Camaro that come to us is ungoverned ????

Uhm.. if you read my post, you'll notice a distinct absence of any judgment or moralizing. There are plenty others here who will give you a spanking if that is what you want.

All I provide in my post is factual information. What you choose to do with that information is up to you.

I think its fair to say that nobody here would attempt a run, top speed or otherwise, in a car that didn't have any brakes. Therefore, brakes are important. Having established that brakes are important, is it not important to understand how they work?

If you can cite all sorts of stats about how the slightest vehicle modification will affect your 60 ft time or your 1/4 mile trap speed, shouldn't you also understand the correlation between speed and braking distance?

I just don't want to see everyone saying how tragic it is when someone gets splattered all over a highway after having a tire blow or a steering linkage cut loose at 150 MPH and losing it. All it means to me is that some idiot tried to win a Darwin Award, and helped make my insurance rate go up in the process.

I think there is a big difference between speeding, and recklessly exploring the absolute limits of a car on a public road. Kind of the same way that 80 MPH isn't that fast on a highway, but is outright reckless if you are doing it through a drivethru at the local McDonald's.

EMB135Driver, we're all adults...we can make decisions for ourselves... Preacher Stewbie and yourself don't need to come on the thread and preach your gospel to us and treat as though we are children. We get it...speeding is dangerous...thanks for the reminder...now can we go back to enjoying each others stories/posts/threads and move on.

Here's a Story for you.....

Im sure the guys in their 3rd Gen Z-28 on a dark rural Pennsylvania road in June of 1996 were adults too (debateable, as I think they were like 22), and made the decision to see how fast they could go. No one asked my cousin how she felt about their decision, cause she was killed when they came over a dip and rear-ended her car (doing in excess of 110 MPH according to the accident report), launching her off the road into some trees. She died enroute to the hospital, leaving 3 kids and husband behind.

See how you feel about people talking about doing 120+ MPH on public roads once you bury someone you love who was killed by some jackass who wanted to see how fast his car was. (fortunately, the passenger in the Z-28 in my cousins wreck was killed after being ejected from the car, and the driver of the Z-28 was paralyzed, so neither of them will kill anyone else).

Why not take your car to the track if you want to drive that fast is all Im wondering.

"Feeble attempt" is when an intellegent guy (like you) tries to teach a monkey quantum physics. You'll just get frustrated and he'll just crap in his hands and throw it at you.
