Supercharger Porting Options

Okay, so just trying to get a post going with our current options for ported stock LT4 blowers. If anyone has any votes on one company over the other or opinions on turn around time/customer service/etc, throw it in here.

Here's the companies and prices I know so far:

Katech $1299
Kong Performance $1275
Weapon-X Motorsports $899 (Currently on sale)
Jokerz Performance $1200 ($1050 Black Friday)

Weapon x as always seemed like a good deal. Can’t inagine there’s more than a 5hp difference between them all.

Kinda the same thing I was wondering. Does everyone have the same or similar CNC machine and/or software?

The machine has little to do with the performance difference between each company. The first time each of these companies ported a blower it was by hand. If they were happy with the final product then the machine would first copy the work and then be able to replicate the work over and over again.

The gains are from the guy doing the porting. Having said that i'm not familiar enough with any of these companies to voice my opinion

Kong performance ported blowers are all over the place with big hp numbers and quick track times. I had mine done and am VERY pleased with the results.

What are your mods and HP?

Curious as well. Also wondering if Pray Performance would get big into the LT4 porting world, I'm fairly sure he's dabbled a little bit.

Kong. The best workmanship and most power from what I've seen. Not that I don't trust Katech or Weapon-X but the results of Kong's ported LS9s, LSAs, and LT4s is a step above IMO.

Does porting effect airflow to the point you need a tune? And, what if you add both a ported TB and a ported supercharger?

Usually it requires a tune.

From what I'm gathering from the CSP video you can get away with it. The graph looked fairly smooth on the stock tune, but they did gain about 10 HP from tuning the car for the additional airflow.
