Harness bar setup

Looking at options for my ZL1 1LE. What harness and harness bar setup is everyone using in their 2017 ZL1 and how do you like it? Post pictures if you can. In my 2012 ZL1 I used a Cypher Bar and harness with home made tank plates. Looking for options this time.

Check with your sanctioning body's rules for using harnesses/harness bar with a factory seat...

They're ok with using a 5/6 point harness on a factory seat?

You have to run 4 point with factory seat.

If you're planning to use the OEM Recaro seats, I think your best bet is to use some DOT approved 3 point harnesses like Schroth Rallye 3 ASM (anti submarine) since we don't have pass thrus on our Recaros.

I've posted some pictures in my build thread see below. It's not as ideal as a proper seat but best method for the OEM seats IMO. When not used I can simply tuck them underneath the seat and hide the back piece

Note: in the picture it looks like the Y piece goes around the headrest but at the track I put it through the opening in the headrest

Where you able to get the right angle for the rear mounting belt? My understanding was you need a specific angle for that rear mount belt for it to be safe.

Yes, C pillar is the recommended place by Schroth. I've also used the same method with my Subaru BRZ, it's been fine since it's not creating pressure over the shoulders and keep me in my seat. I don't see any advantage of going with a harness bar over this setup if the OEM Recaros will be used (not fixed bucket seats with pass thrus)

I'm running a RPM roll bar,(which fits perfect) Sparco seat and slider (will probably pull slider out for next year) Planted technologies base and Crow Harness.

I highly recommend the RPM roll bar. I cannot get a piece of paper between the top hoop and the roof. it's TIGHT

Without changing seats, most will advise you to not run harnesses. It’s quite dangerous in a rollover. I guess you could wear both a harness and the stock belt.
