Here's a good picture. Two discontinued colors. I should get an ABM in there and take another picture to show 3 discontinued colors.

i posted this on another thread: Also anyone who thinks a V6 will be worth money is sadly mistaken. look at the value of a v6 camaro, 67-69 vs. one with an L78 or just vs. an SS and youll see the difference.
I dont know but I'd assume there are a TON of SS models ranging close to half of the number of production. In other words approx. 2.5 million of them. Now who's to say in 40 yrs, considering MOST ppl will get rid of it after 10-15 yrs if not before, perform engine swaps, alter the car, trash the car, ect? How many would be left in original condition with fewer miles, (less than 100000mi) matching numbers? Id say IF the car will be worth money, it will have to be based on rarities such as 09 with chicklets AND be a rarer color like ABM. If youre buys a car for investment purposes by nothign other than a ZL-1! They will NOT make 2,000,000 of these so this is a good bet and would produce more value on a car. Also to consider is in 30-40yrs, where will the energy industry be? Will you be able to drive a gasoline run vehicle or will it be eletric cars? If you still have gasoline run vehicles which I'm thinking they will, how much will gasoline be? Will anyone who could afford the camaro now a days be able to afford the gasoline to drive it then? if not ppl will get rid of them and the junk pile they go. Though no one can predict the future, I'd have to say IF this car does get to be worth money DO NOT look for it to be worth 100,000s of $$$ or some stupid figure just because the earlier models (60s/70's) multiplied 15-85 times their original value.

Yep... the 250 to US and 45 to Canada have been thrown around in many publications. But the actual number to Canada was 44 per the stripe shop at Oshawa who put 294 total sets of stipes on AND per the list of VIN numbers that does show 295 but if you look closely they skipped #100 so the total is actually 294. Probably why they keep getting it wrong.

Nobody has mentioned Nickey, Lingenfelter, Callaway, or Hendrick cars.

These 'tuner cars'mentioned above may also be sought after years from now...just like the Yenko and Mickey cars of the 60's and 70's are today.

the steering wheel on the first two model years may end up being somewhat rare, but it sure is ugly!

Rare factory originated camaros:
1 of 1 2012 ZL1 in Black Granite 1 of 100 Neiman Marcus 1 of 284 LS ABM 1 of 294 2010 Indy Pace Car 1 of 500 2011 Indy Pace Car After those we're talking in the thousands unless you combine many options. For instance mine is 1 of 403 2010 Synergy Edition with a manual transmission.

my 2011 indy pace car is also signed by Mario Andretti. one of 500 as noted above but i think rarity doesn't increase value but demand. older camaro pace cars have brought good money and i think thats a home run.

I'm sorry but I think its funny when someone says I have a 1 out of x and they think it will be worth a bunch of money (especially when its based on color combinations).
Unless you have something extremely collectable (#1 produced Camaro to roll off the assembly line) or (a very collectable special edition model), its not going to matter. |

Didn't they produce a few SG SS as well? I think that one might have a rarity factor but I agree, ABM will be the desirable collectible color in years to come.
... and to those young-uns who scoff that their Camaro won't have value in 40 years... My grandpa's pristine 58 Chevy Biscayne 2 door coupe that my dear mamma sold in 1974 for 200.00 would be around 17-20k today. I got my 65 mustang in 72 for $500. and had an opportunity to buy a 63 vette vert for 1,200.00 in 1976. Those who hang onto and take care of their 5th gen Camaro will have something of value in years to come, it's not apparent until we get (as SirNuke mentioned above) 30-40 years out.</oldfartrant> |
