License Plate Bulb Housings Won't Hold Bulbs
Discovered one bulb out above my license plate, so I bought new LED bulbs to just go ahead and replace them both with.
Took one housing out and discovered no bulb, wire, nothing. I believe it fell out down in the bumper and I can't reach it. The housings look broke or maybe got hot and don't hold the bulbs anymore. Anyone else have this issue? Left side  Right side no bulb or harness  Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think I remember something about these lamps burning the plastic facia way back when the 5th gen was
new. Not positive though, but it may have been a warranty issue. I bet someone else here will remember.

It was never a recall so notices were never mailed out. It was a TSB, I believe.
Only those Camaros affected will be serviced for the issue. If you bring your car to the dealer with the issue they will install updated housings. This should apply even if your warranty has expired. BTW, if you remove your license plate there are two large openings where you will probably locate the missing socket.

WOW! Wish I had seen that before, I think I paid $57. For a harness and the 2 housings with lenses. Guess that doesn't sound so expensive, but free would have been really nice!

Mine melted on my 2011 in 2015, emailed GM, then got a call back, took about 30 minutes on the phone with India, I sent them my receipt, they sent me a check back.
