What's funny is that the camaro outsold not just the mustang, but the ENTIRE Lincoln brand!!!! LOL.

It also outsold Fiat, Smart, and Suzuki combined ... by about 1800 units

Anyone else notice the Winter Dip (Nov-Dec-Jan) is less significant than last winter?
Why? 2011, overall, has had more Camaro's sold than the previous 2 years. And my wild ass guess would be that 2012 will bring in even more new Camaro customers. As much as I don't want my car to be "just another Camaro", I think this is awesome. We've really learned to appreciate our 2-door muscle car ever since they took it away from us for 7 years.. more sales = more money spent on the Camaro line by GM. |

Way to go Camaro. It's good to see the trend continues.
I wasn't sure where to post these off-subject comments, but here goes. I just finished watching the recorded Daytona Continental Tire Challenge on Speed TV. I noticed something that I thought was suspicious ("just racing"? Dunno). I posted this comment where I linked from the speedtv.com website. http://www.racer.com/roush-jr-johnso...rticle/225207/ "Congrats to Roush racing team for the win. Who had the idea to have the #49 Mustang take out the #01 Camaro on the last lap? It looked to me like that move prevented the Camaro from finishing near the top 5 coming from 28th after the terrible pit stop which cost the Camaro the lead at that time." Unfortunately, I am becoming disenchanted watching this TV series. In my opinion, too many cars starting on a 3.5 mile racetrack (approx. 40 GS and 40 ST). This type of racing gotta be fun for the drivers, but could be frustrating at the same time, especially with all the hard work from ALL of the racing teams. I think I prefer the GrandAm racing better. Good luck to the NEW Corvette and the Camaro racing teams. Just my opinions and not intended to be abrasive. |

Seriously - while everyone at Chevrolet and "Team Camaro" is pleased with our sales performance versus our competition, rest assured that no one's "Sitting back on their laurels" -- the team continues to work on continuous improvements-

When , and if , that day comes to Chevy/Camaro team , one can count the days for our beloved car manufacture . Someone once told me that, once you stop moving up , there is only a few moments going flat , then it's only down from there .

Not unexpected news, and great for Team Camaro, but I am a little concerned about the overall sales numbers in January for GM; down over 6% while Chrysler and Ford were up over the same period.

Obviously we never want to be down when it comes to sales - that said, it's also important to look at the context. For instance, I suspect you'll see Chrysler up in sales for the next several months - not only because the industry is starting to see recovery - but also because of their poor performance in the first few months of last year.

Keep in mid that GM had the biggest sales increase of any major automaker in January 2011. Overall, they're still up 15% from January 2010. Ford and Chrysler are up more than that (21 and 77), but I wouldn't get too worried about a single month. If this sort of thing continues through February, March, and April ... then I'll start to get concerned.
