I think the trade-in/buy values from Dealer/Carvana/CarMax/etc. are good data points, but they obviously aren't the same as retail/private sale price. I think you're on the right track just looking at asking prices on all the major sites (autotrader, cars.com, facebook marketplace, etc). That's where potential buyers are looking. Based on that, you might try to undercut the dealer prices just a bit to attract more attention.

I get offers from the online retailers and sell to the highest. You lose a little from a private sell but no hassle. Sold my Grand Cherokee two weeks ago to Carmax. Carvana has been the highest lately but not his time.

What's your mileage, condition and options? Obviously 2ss, but NPP, MRC, sunroof, etc. etc.?


I just bought a fully loaded '16 2SS, 25k miles, hyper blue, 6 speed, MRC, NPP, sunroof, one owner, all service records, bone stock and looks and smells brand new. This one was listed at $36k. I paid a little less. It was far and away the best example 16 to 18 I could find in the country, though a I did find a few at dealerships listing for higher, but weren't nearly as well optioned. Found several without MRC for around 30k. Over 50k on the clock I think puts your price under 30k. AGain, I don't know your car. ...I also think that the car I bought listing at $36k really starts to push the price envelope for a early model 6th gen, no matter HOW nice. I was picky, got what I wanted and was willing to pay a little for that. ....much more though and you're getting into almost new 1SS/LT1 territory.

I apologize if this may be a little off topic, but then it does apply to current Camaro pricing and what price the OP might expect to get for his used Camaro.

I wonder how the fact that the Camaro isn't in production any longer is going to affect used Camaro prices. Will it cause Camaro values to stay strong, or even increase because there are no new ones being built (although there is still some factory inventory in some parts of the country), or will Camaro prices sink because it has been discontinued?

One one hand, I can see it possibly causing prices to rise a bit when people realize that they can no longer buy a new Camaro, but then again, the Camaro wasn't exactly setting sales records the last few years and we have the SUV craze and the possible switch to EVs in the future.

It will be interesting to see how that works out for all of us if we some day decide to sell our Camaros.

Something I have been doing is seeing how long people who are selling the same car as me have had their ad up @ X price. If I see it’s been up for 2 months or more than I know the asking price was probably not realistic to begin with. Trade in values are back to normal. Don’t expect to get anywhere near msrp like people were getting in 2021 and 2022. Dealers seem to be asking close to msrp for their used cars but if I see the ad has been up awhile I know that demand and buying power has slow down and they are asking too much.

It will most likely range low to high 30s, just list it for what you’re comfortable excepting in the time frame it needs to be sold. The more patience than more money.
