I run 2 catch cans...

Normal. If you want clean, install hi-flo cats.

I have hi-flos on mine with headers and tune and still get the same thing. I could clean them after every run (and do so it's easier to keep clean). I always wondered the same thing....why? I'm going to check my CAI filter and it's a 2011 so maybe new plugs?

The only "problem" is the tips are flared out and soot is noticeable....Every exhaust pipe looks like that on the inside...Quit looking at it, and the problem is solved...

I've had a catch can on mine for 4 1/2 years and it has never even been mentioned over many service visits.

I mean don't some of the models above the SS come with a catch can from the factory?

There have been many instances of oil pump failures and GM knows about it. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72458 I definitely would have made them explain how it caused the problem and put it in writing. Many people just accept what the dealer says and do not force the issue.

The burden of proof still falls on the dealer/manufacturer. BTW there are many threads in Camaro5 explaining this, so I am not making this up.

It would be up to you to prove the modification could not cause an issue, and you can't.

If what failed is a known issue and you have proof that it is a known issue such as a TSB number it is hard for them to use that excuse. Here is a good explanationo on the steps you should take if you are denied a warranty claim due to a mod. http://www.semasan.com/page.asp?cont...enied&g=semaga
