Air intake scoop

For those that installed a scoop with their cold air intake did it make a noticeable difference, was it worth the extra money?

I never got around to installing one, but I can tell you I damn sure was going to. Dyno results don't lie. More HP to be made with it than without. Worth it? For me yes. For everyone else? Dunno

I added one to go with the intake. Horsepower? Maybe 3-4 per reports. But you do notice it above say 40 mph. The faster you go, say when getting on the freeway, the harder it pulls. At least the butt dyno seems to notice.

I put one on my CAI intake. An Apex model with washer relocation. I am happy with it. It seems to give a little more air and zip. But with these small things , it is hard to notice. In my opinion it wasn't that hard to do. It did take some time, but nothing was hard to do. I would do it again.

I think the real issue is it is hard to get real results on it due to the nature of the product itself where it needs to be moving to really be effective.. Can't really duplicate it naturally with a dyno pull.. Many race cars have some kind of similar design/setup.. In theory bringing in cooler air will certainly assist with an overall better performing engine. More fuel and spark can be added all leading to more HP.. Exact numbers are really not known and for me a simple add on regardless of #'s to have a happier engine is worth it to me.

I am not the expert like many on here but, my thoughts.

I have the closed box CAI intake and with the scoop you only draw cool air from the front of the car, unlike an open box intake. Like already said, the scoop makes a difference at some speed. Cool intake air can only help performance. JMO

I'm considering purchasing one of these but am concerned how much rain water is sucked in through this scoop. I use a Donaldson Powercore Filter with my CAI and don't want to prematurely ruin the filter which is about $90 to replace. The reason I chose the Donaldson filter is it filters better than the stock filter yet increases air flow over stock. Hard to find something that does both. Anybody have feedback on the amount of water these scoops take in at the filter when it rains? Thanks.

I bought one from phastek. The front fascia for the 14-15 is different as the instructions seemed to be for the 10-13 but it still worked. I don’t know how one could test the horsepower difference and I probably couldn’t tell from the butt dyno. However, after driving, my engine bay is hot and my rotofab is cool so that’s all the proof I need.
