I know some will want me to keep fighting, but at some point every battle has to end and for me this is it. My back up truck is an IH Scout II that is in need of work, and last week nearly left me stranded when it wouldn't start for a still unknown reason.

Truly a bummer. This was handled in a bad manner all along the way it seems. Hopefully you can get this car back on its feet in short order.

Wow that seriously does suck.

Were they willing to work on a discount to repair or replace the engine?

If not I would consider looking for a good 3rd party shop to replace/repair the engine. People wreck camaros and corvettes all the time. I would hope you could get a used long block cheap. Or buy a new one from shop.

I am sure tons of people on this forum can recommend a good shop near you.

Good luck and update us on the fix.

No they were not willing to work with me on a discount.

I am currently working on getting it fixed either by myself or at a shop.

For those wondering here is what the front cover of my oil pump looked like when I pulled it off.

That is insane... I'd send those pictures to that jack wad that slammed your warranty case shut

He won't be getting pictures, I'm taking the real thing to his office when I go in and get all paperwork and documentation for the time they had my vehicle.

Sorry man, what they did here is inexcusable. Why the hell did they run they car with no oil pressure? I think the bigger problem here is modern engines with 10k miles on them having oil pump failure. Mine just crapped out at 9800 miles. Unfortunately I have no warranty because it's a 2010. There's absolutely no damn reason these pumps should die so early if the engine is properly maintained.

Between this and my shitbox oil drinking 5.3 AFM engine in my truck I'm done with GM. Been a loyal customer since 1998, but I'm done.

I can't win for losing. Last night my scout caught fire. Luckily I caught it quick enough before it did much damage let alone burning down my garage and quite possibly my house. All it did was burn up the feed line return line and what I think is a vent line.
