Ceramic brake pads

I know that there has been a great of discussion about brake dust and ceramic brake pads were the suggested way to help avoid the current dust situation.

How many have converted to ceramics? Other than losing some braking, has there been other issues?

I am not sure that I will be tracking mine, so I think that losing some of the braking capibilities will not be that much of an issue to me.

Hey noxqq !
Good question I've thought about ceramic brake pads as well,
as far as brake dust I've tried Meguiars Brake Dust Barrier
http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.do?q=11455
that seems to work the best for me
But advise using VERY light coats to avoid runs, dries quickly thou

I switched to ceramics. A little loss of stopping power but dust virtually goes away. They are so easy to change out anyway. Takes longer to take the tire on/off than it does to change out pads. I would recommend HAWK PERFORMANCE Ceramics. ZL1 has the same calipers as Caddy CTS-V so you order the CTS- V. About $300 for all wheels. Very little dusting. I would say switch!

I switched to Hawk Performance ceramics almost six weeks ago. As Masterchiefbt says very little dusting. Unless your are at the track you'll never know the difference in braking. Well worth the $$ spent. The brake dust treatments are short term and there is still a faster buildup over time than with the ceramics. Switch and be done with it!

Yeah, I'm thinking about switching to ceramics as well. I tried the Armor All wheel protectant, and it helped but still quite a bit of dust. My car isn't a daily driver and I would wash it about half as much as I do if it weren't for the dust.

Chief: Thought About Switching Pads But, Was Told That The Alloy In The Rotors Was Not Compatible - By Switching To Ceramics They Would Eat Into The Rotors - Any Truth To This?
