Dunno about your battery? Are you reading that on the center console gague, the one above the vac/boost gague? Top right. The smell really didn't go away Til about 1300 miles and you can still smell it whenever you beat on it a little bit, still. Seems fairly normal though.

My coolant temp usually averages between 192 and 200, but then again you're in the south and I'm up here in Michigan.

Mine runs 190* to 198*. I haven't run it hard yet. Still doing the break-in, only 850 miles. No smells.

I'd check to make sure that you have enough coolant. That seems to be a bit high for normal street driving

219 degrees for me. Coolant and oil at proper levels. But, wow, was the engine bay quite hot! My dipstick was so hot, you couldn't hold the little handle to pull it out (no pun intended)... the air filter box and air intake pipe and fusebox were all hot. Don't even ask me about the cross brace... all "ouch"... I think it's ok.

engines tend to run a little "hotter" when new. As it breaks in it should cool down a little.......

Superchargers add heat. Also heat is directly related to hp.

On the plus side, supercharged cars get cabin heat fast on a cold morning. I had a supercharged Grand Prix for a DD for a while. Greatest winter car, had heat going real quick.

Just make sure the rad is full when cold, the surge tank is at the full cold level, and the supercharger coolant supply is full at the cap under the S/C cover. If all that is good, I wouldn't give it another thought.
