I don't like the new design either. The front looks like Viper and Ferrari inspired

I'm not 100% sold on the new Stingray either.
With that said, I do find many of its attributes inviting and you must think about this one just a bit... ...many times, what you see in the NEW Corvette engineering/tech, some of it eventually makes its way downward (Think HUD, mag ride, superchargers, engine platforms, upped HP, etc.) to "lesser" models. I think rather than bitch about the Stingray, start looking at the tech that's put into it and consider what sort of things that may be adopted later on in the next Camaro. Some things may be welcome, some may not, but look at it more as a preview as to what's to come for the 6th gen Camaro.

I am sure a lot of people since the inception have not liked the changes to the body lines, but it has to change. If not you purest would surely be driving one of these around.

Thanks for the novel. Camaro: 30k, 426hp. NEW Corvette: add another 30-35k to your bottom line, and only add only 24hp? May I point out that even the lowly Mustang GT makes 420hp. It's an unimpressive number, any way you spin it. Not as unimpressive as the styling, but still.

You people that spend your time complaining and throwing opinions about other rides should just build your own. No one cares if you like the new Vette or not. It's a done deal. Don't buy or even look at the damn thing if you don't like it.

Revo...first I have to ask...where have you been? This car has been unveiled for a month a few weeks and now you decide to bitch about it?? lol sorry.
2nd...you can bet the final Stingray power levels will be beyond 450, but not by much. Thinking 460 - 480 tops. Next, have you seen the TQ curve of the LT1 versus the Ls3? It kills it. Next, this car will likely run with or very near to ZL1 numbers at the strip, and if the ZL1 is at all running in warm or hot temps then forget about it...this Vette will take it. ZL1 0 - 60 is what...3.9 seconds??? This car runs under 4 seconds as well, with a 100HP deficit. You can say all you want about the design...thats your opinion. But I don't understand why people are bitching about the power numbers when 1) we don't know them forsure yet. 2) we don't know how fast this car is...just that I'm sure its faster than the C6. 3) this is the base Stingray and there will be even faster performance levels. 4) this car will decimate everything else on the road that is less than 2 or 3 times its price level. 5) your absolutely dreaming if you think the current 426HP Camaro would run remotely close to the straight line performance numbers of this car. Just drop it. Why in the world should a base Vette need 500+ HP before people feel it is acceptable? The current Z06 has that and it is an ass raping machine which costs 100K.

thats it Revo...beer can exhaust for you!
but seriously...a 3000lb car with 450hp is going to seriously kick ass. some people pay way too much attention to hp numbers...power:weight is what is truly important. that is why a stock 4th gen can keep pace with a stock 5th gen, sure the 5th gen has more ponies under the hood but it weighs like 500lbs more. C7 weighs 1000lbs less then a 5th gen and has more hp, it is going to be an animal! and if you need more power then go see Hennessey, they are working on a 1000hp C7. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2013/...gray-in-works/ |

Your point was 450 wasn't enough and wasn't special and that all kinds of cars had that. Now you are saying that 450 is just not far enough above 420/430? Please make up your mind so we can continue the discussion. None of the cars you state will run with this Stingray you keep wanting to bash well ahead of an officially announced HP rating. Not one.

Corvette: Add another $30k, OVER 24 HP, improved torque curve, a vastly better interior, and performance specs that will send a Camaro crying home to Oshawa. You're so hung up on a freaking preliminary HP figure that you're ignoring the rest of the package.
