Very nice number. I am actually 52 this year and was my strongest in my early 40's. My best raw numbers were 455 bench, 555 squat and 615 dl, mainly at the 232 weigh class. But at 52 now, I train to stay in shape, as I don't have a need to chase numbers in competition. Instead of competing in the gym, my weekend job is now, Professional Wrestler, just like WWE. Me and my partner are tag team champions in 4 different federations. and this stupid injury has slowed me down a little, but will be back rolling in the ring in another 6 weeks.

Thanks. Been at it for 31 years as of this summer. I'm a lifetime drug free lifter. (Nothing against those that seek chemical enhancement....you still have to work just not for me). Of course I wish I would have known what I know now when I was younger.

Do you lift geared or raw? Wish I had your DL!!!!

Worst part about the injury is I was going to set new, all time pr's in the bench and the DL (squat I can do whenever I want to take the chance) the week after it happened. The week before my injury I had done a close grip with 375 x 3 and had pulled 475 x 5. I was so excited....to have trained this long and to still be setting PR's. Then it happened....

The emotional roller coaster with this entire experience has just sucked the life out of me.

Well Monique finished 363rd worldwide. Down from last years 251st. But % wise about the same as there was about 14000 entrants last year and about 19000 this year in her age group (40-44).

Looking at her #'s she would have finished 123rd in the 45-49 division this year....and this is without being able to do a muscle up. We need to get over that hurdle, continue to bring her olympic lifts up, and avoid injury and I really think we will be good next year.

Just checking in.

I'm back to not doing CrossFit now that the Open is over. I actually got back on the rower after a long hiatus. I had developed some persistent reflux while I was doing it (3-4 20+ minute rows/week for 4ish months), and now that that seems to have finally chilled out I'm taking it slow and playing with breathing patterns so I'm not putting undue pressure on my upper GI. I have an appointment with a cardiologist next week just to cross Ts and dot Is and make sure the non-specific chest tightness isn't anything to worry about. All at the ripe old age of 30.

Otherwise: 5x5 strict press at 170, with my hands on the inner edge of the knurling so I have to worry even less about the hspu standard next year; and 3x5 deadlift at 405. It felt really good to pull heavy again. My 2K row clocked in at 7:36--34 seconds slower than my PR--but again, just getting back into it.

I’ve always competed raw. I may try equipped on bench to save my shoulders but I’ve never tried a shirt.

Surgery scheduled for the 10th.

In other news, Monique hasn't felt "right" since her wreck. So she went to the chiropractor last week. When he adjusted her, he popped one of her implants.

When it rains.......

but on a good note, my recovery is going very well. Hoping the PT will release me to start lifting a few light weights.

I know that sucking feeling and glad I finally got past that part, stay strong.

F man be thankful. I still have (according to "protocol") 4 more weeks in the sling and then 8 more weeks before I can start lifting again (like you with 5lbs).

Follow up on Friday with my surgeon. Hoping to speed things along. In 31 years of lifting my longest "break" was 3 months. At 10 weeks now.

Yeah, mentally it really messes with you, but we both know, we have the drive to come back and keep going strong. I am good with taking my time, reinjury is worse, so slow and smart is my goal at the moment.
