What is the normal IAT range for a SC ls3 on 93
Im running 93 octane, 10 pounds of boost and im seeing a max iat of 111 degrees F. My buddy runs 10 psi on a P1sc on E85, and his iats peak at 140.
He has the stage 2 intercooler from procharger. I have the standard ESS, which is a beast. Obviosly lower is better, but are these temps normal? Its about 85 degrees here in Florida.

Not a supercharger, but with twin turbos I am usually 20-25* over ambient. I have the AGP giant intercooler.
That is just driving around. I don't know what it is when ran hard because I have meth injection and my IAT sensor has been moved to the intake which is a Holley Hi Ram that retains heat because it is metal and not plastic. What you reported seems pretty normal. The IAT will always be over ambient unless you are using meth, nitrous, etc especially under boost. Every setup is going to be a little different. |

The E85 doesn't do anything until it is in the cylinder. The IATs are being measured before the air and fuel get mixed.
I have heard the procharger intercoolers aren't that great but I have no direct experience with them. |

Live in FL. Have the Race Intercooler with StageII D1X and have not seen anything close to 140. Usually Ambient or + a few like others here stated.( Not spraying any Meth until app 4lbs.)

I'm also seeing 10-20 degrees over ambient. The IAT will depend on whatever your outside temps are. I'm running an LSA with a stock IC and a 2.75 upper pully. I am worried about the IAT's when it starts getting into the 100's here in AZ......

22° to 26° over ambient @ cruise but, I have a 2.45 upper and 18% lower ported snout and blower running E85. I have an intercooler and 3 HXs. IATs no issue as I also have extra coolant for the SC. E85 cools the cylinders so, we pull timing at a higher IAT because of that. Road race it as I’m always watching the temps and KR...

13 lbs on Street. Lol yeah maybe not fair comparison. It hasn’t seen the Heat of our Summer yet but it’s been pretty warm already here the last month. On the Street has rarely gotten above 4psi .( AlkyControl System) Have an IAT Alarm on the DashControl HUD Unit set at 160. Will be running it’s first 1/2 Mile of year In 3 Weeks. Will see what kind of IATs it sees in WOT Conditions. Best Wishes. 🙂

I've just recently jumped into the world of FI so please forgive my uneducated question.
Are you guys tracking IAT's real time or are you just checking logs? I'm having a real problem with power loss here in Florida as well. |

My last Dyno was with the Whipple blower, and Whipple HX, not using my interchiller.
After 4 700+rwhp pulls iat's were peaking around 120 I think. This was in a Dyno room and the room temp was about 70 degrees but there wasn't much air moving. Not having air moving is a killer, my iat's are 100+ sitting at idle with 40 degree water temp. eLesThree, your iat's seem good. What blower and where is your intake filter? It seems like your HX of doing a good job. You friends don't seem that out of whack though.
