Would you buy if there were only V6 Camaros?
So with this latest bit of news and GM really seeming to push the V6....how many here would still buy a Camaro if the only offering were the 300HP V6?

Yes.
But of course, this would never happen. GM isn't stupid, they know people want V8s in their Camaros.

I would not use the word push. They are not recommending people buy it over the v8. They merely are offering it as an alternative to those who might want a cheaper car, better fuel efficeny, or cheaper TCO.

it's a hard decision, but i gota say probably not. although the V6 is no slouch, by any means, i would have a hard time going for it because of the long history of V8 Camaros being one of the best average-Joe sports cars around. that is why i even want the Camaro in the first place. the new Camaro looks amazing in all trims & it's a car i'd be proud to call my own, but i really want the performance offered by the new SS. if that were to go away, i'd probably just buy a used Corvette.

No. plain and simple.
Most People (...me.) that have the budget for an SS (30k-38k) are going to be looking for a higher performance level than the 5.9 0-60 V6. If the SS bails, id buy something else without too much thought or guilt....that G8 GXP was looking mighty fine...

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

I want the brakes and the suspension of the SS as much as the extra power. So, I would not buy the V6 as is. If factory performance options included brakes, suspension, and other stuff I wouldn't mind a 6 cylinder.

Yes. You can ALWAYS stuff a V8 into almost anything later, if you have the desire to make it happen.
Heck, I might still just buy a V6 anyway. (never thought I'd say that, but I just did).
