Don't want a manual, so I don't have to worry about that.

Now I can drive stick with my eyes shut. I like the added control over the vehicle. I will never have a winter vehicle without a manual transmision it has saved my butt more than once having the engine assist me in braking on bad surfaces. Not that I will be driving my camaro in the snow, but you never when you will need to stop in a big hurry. I have heard of several people putting remote starts in manuals. its not safe or legal where I live. you better make sure it is in neutral or you can be looking for your vehicle down the street.

I don't think people are "afraid' of a manual as much as would just rather not have to deal with it. This is especially true if you live in a big city and have to deal with stop and go traffic on a consistent basis. While I was living in Chicago, there is no way in hell I would drive a manual transmission car as my daily driver. Now that i live in Indy, I am not too concerned about it and will definitely be getting a manual....

I know most here disagree, but to me manual shifting is just such a chore.

The couple times I was being taught I really disliked it. For one I can't get nearly as comfortable since I usually sit with my left leg bent rather than stretched out. That doesn't work well when you have a clutch you're supposed to use with your left foot...

Though I'm willing to give the whole paddle shift thing a try, so I hope that's on the Camaro.

m6 isn't hard at all. Sure, when you're learning it's pretty tough. I tought my younger brother in minutes how to drive a my m6. He stalled it twice, but got the feel and was fine. After driving it for a while, you get used to it and there's no problems. So far, there's only been one time that I have not like driving a manual and that was when I was treking through about 2 hours of stop and go traffic in Austin. If I had to deal w/ that every day, I could honestly say I'd get an auto w/out a second thought.
