What Did You Drive Back In The Day

After seeing some of the hot oldies on the strip at the Spring Meet (a few of which I had owned similar one's many moons ago) I thought I'd look out some old pickies. This one is me with my beloved Ford Anglia 105E (my second car) - and yes that is me with the telegraph pole sticking out of my head !!

BTW, the only mod on this was the red stripe that I sprayed on it (oh and possibly a few mods - adaptions/deletions to the silencer). Oh, and the spotlight.

My first car was this, a Suzuki Vitara with full fat boy body kit and super wide wheels.

Yeah, we were sex gods back then, LOL! I like the way you customised the parking of your windscreen wipers on the Anglia, to enhance the aerodynamics, I guess.

Metallic Beige Citroen ZX 1.6i Aura....mmmmm

It leaked oil and coolant everywhere, only one brake worked, bust front suspension, broken steering rack, blown head gasket and after a long motorway journey I would have to wash all of the oil off the back window... winner!

Last time I listened to my dad - I wanted to get a Jag XJS V12 :-)

My dream car

Yes, that's right, I drove my dream car.

Can't find pictures yet

1969 Ram Air IV GTO. Black, Black Vinyl top,off white interior, Positraction 3.90 Gears Four speed Muncie close ratio with a super wild for the times cam at 320 and 308 duration also had the higher ratio rockers for more lift, don't remember specs.

It also had limited travel hydraulic lifters which would go solid after a certain rpm and allow 7000RPM. Surprised many a chevy with that RPM capability.
high rise Aluminum intake manifold and special cast headers, round ports, I forget the valve sizes.

Rated at 370HP (Crank), but it was rumored to put out much more, like 425 to 450HP at the crank. Don't remember the torque.

Fully loaded: you couldn't get AC, but it had power windows, power antenna, simulated wood wheel, trailier towing package which gave motor increased cooling, oversized radiator. Retractable headlights, not sure if it had front disc brakes, my brain just can't retrieve the data.
AM FM with Cassette(I think)

I think they made only 500 or so of these in 1969.

A Vauxhall Chevette in carmine red. I only remember the colour name because I bought so many cans of it to cover all the rust!
I had to actively avoid hills as it could only tackle them in 1st gear at 5mph, but his name was Steve and I loved him.
