Time to replace the P-Zeros

It's time to replace the original P-Zeros on my 2012 2SS. I'm running the original rims and want to go to a quite, reasonably well handling tire. Not into racing, just tooling around with the top down on the back roads like "The Dragon US129" or I-40.

What are your suggestions!

Thanks in advance!

What are you seasonal expectations? Do you need winter tires, all-seasons, or do you only need a summer replacement? (PZeros are summers)

For an all-season tire, I would highly recommend the Continental ExtremeContact DWS's. Significantly better treadlife (24k on them and still have at least half the tread remaining compared to the 20k on my Pirellis before going into the trash). They have good summer grip (not race-worthy, but still good), and they grip 1000x better when the temps drop below 40* (even in the dry).

Replacing the P-Zeros

I'm looking to drive the car some this winter, but not in the snow or ice. How are the continentals as far as noise is concerned?

Thanks again

Hey Dexman, I am wondering are the roads in your area concrete or asphalt. Here in New Jersey our roads are asphalt and I got 45000 miles out of my original tires and I had about 4000 more I could have gone. I've heard many stories of 20000 to 24000 miles on the original tires. I like P-zeros so much I bought them again. My car is a daily driver, cold, snow, never had a problem. I'm just wondering about road surface and tire wear. Thanks!

Mostly asphalt, but the mag-chloride and winters really make them rough roads. Very rare to find someone in CO with more than 20k miles on a set of Pzeros. They are good tires in the summer, but they don't seem to last worth anything out here...

Very quiet. They are more of a "touring" tire in that they were quieter than the Pzeros, IMO

Michelin Pilot Super Sports or Nitto Invo's is what I would use.

I picked up the Conti DWS about a month ago and love them We have had a little snow and they handled ok. I cant tell a difference as far as noise is concerned compared to the PZeros.

Mickey Thompson has come out with a new street tire for todays modern muscle cars called the Street Comp, its a 300 treadwear, AA,A rated. We have been selling them for the last few months and everyone likes them a lot. Check them out, they are less than the Pirelli's.
