We have some new shit that we can change setting on that your detectors will never even beep. With that new stuff in our cars and we are somewhat behind the time I would not even waste money on a detector.

Just my 2 cents.

Fines come up to almost almost $300 a whack so if it saved you from two they paid for themselves. Yes we have points too, the insurance companies use them to jack up your rates for the most part. If you get enough of them to loose your license its probably best you can't drive, lol.

Are you sure that gun he use wasn't a laser gun and not a radar gun? If its laser then you radar detector won't work.

I can't complain. I've been guilty as charged every time I received a ticket. I realize they have a job to do. I was a correctional officer for a while so I know what it's like to deal with a$$holes all day.
It's always nice to get a break. I've had a couple of those too. Just be polite and take your medicine.

I hate radar detectors, always have, most of the time all they do is cry wolf by going off at any burglar alarm, and god know what other signals.

isn't that an FCC violation....just because it's law enforcement you still have to play by the rules....would you like for us to have the same toys rendering your equipment useless...it can be done

well get a laser jammer in states where it isnt illegal and topped with a radar detector it might even the odds.

I don't use the radar detector but I sure use the GPS for redlight camera alerts. Chicago is a POS city filled with fcuking cameras at every intersection. Helps in increasing safety ? yeah right.

Well, Escort finished testing my detector so thought I should update the thread. Hot, cold, all bands everything worked fine. They did note that I had 'pop' detection was turned off in the settings so they turned it back on and it tested good as well. Given my description of events and the LEO's they figure that's what it was...user error. Ain't that a beotch!

Still a cool cop!
