Got my windows tinted finally

Got my windows tinted last week, went with 15 percent, I was going to do 5 percent but Im glad I didnt, 5 percent would have been awful to see out of lol and mine being a daily driver I drive it alot, so 15 percent works! Looks good though.

Looks really good!

I'm in the same boat as you with tinting. For some reason it has fallen almost to the bottom of my modifications list... I should have done it a long time ago. I'm finally tired of burning my hands and getting into a ridiculously hot car. Texas summers are not very forgiving.

I'm trying to decide how dark I want to go now. Like you this is a daily driver for me and visibility is somewhat of a concern. I've blacked my entire car out though so I'm not sure if the darkest I can legally go would look better significantly better.

What brand and type (regular film, metallic, ceramic) did you get?

Could you snap a few more photos in the sun and maybe a bit further out from the car?

I went with 28% since I am moving to Texas and the tint shop told me Texas legal limit is 25% on the driver/passenger side windows. Doesn't look bad at all and keeps the lights dim when driving at night.

Yeah I've heard that 25 is the limit, but the shop i'm looking at has a display of everything and it seems they go down to 15? I'm almost sure they wouldn't do anything illegal as they are very reputable.

117 your car looks great, tint is always my first mod 20% all around. Living in Phoenix makes tint almost mandatory.

Understandable. Texas LEOs, especially DFW, are more interested in other fines. Things like tints, no license, etc, can be dismissed with minimal court fees (~$10) as long as you fix it within 10 days. I've been driving my car since I bought it in July 2012 without a front plate and have not yet received a ticket nor pulled over for it. Really what infractions like this will do is single you out late at night when they need reason to look for something. But it is always better to be safe then sorry.

Congrats on moving to Texas. It's a great place, especially DFW.

Thanks! As far as I know its just regular. I went to a local Audio and tinting shop and they done a great job. Cost me 150 bucks. They asked if i wanted the strip across the front windshield, I said nah. I feel like the strip makes it look uncompleted, but that's just me. Id love to do the full windshield but seeing out of it would be terrible Im sure besides the guy at the shop said they wont do it lol. 15 percent here is legal for back glass only. Heres a couple of pics in the sun and further out. Sorry about the first pics I posted, I was rushed.

Go ceramic or carbon if you plan on keeping you car for any length of time. The other options look like poo after some years

Thanks for the extra photos Camaro117! Seeing it out in the sun makes me feel a lot better about a 15. Definitely looks dark. I don't personally care for the front stripe, it's not a very finished look to me.

Vroom_vroom I was planning on going ceramic but the shop i'm going to only has 15 in it versus the 5 in metallic. Decisions decisions...
