Z26??
Yesterday in the parking lot I saw a 2010 Camaro with "Z26" badges on it. It was a burnt orange color.... with black stripes on the truck and silver stripes on the hood. On the side it said "Daytona 500 Special Edition". Is this an actual special edition car or did someone just do it themselves? It looked to be a 2lt with RS badging also...... I saw it in the Cherry Hill NJ area.... sorry no pics :(

There was a Z26 actually. But it was a Chevrolet Beretta Z26.

probably a hodge podge job by a misguided soul the Z26 monkier was used on Berettas for the most part as mentioned did it have a manufacturers plate usually thats a good clue that it's a GM owned car

Talk about ruining the integrity of the letter 'Z'. Sesame Street would take offense!

GM/Chevy didn't do any of this. Must have been a dealer or a group of dealers doing this on their own. Chevy is very protective of our "monikers" and do not sanction any use of the Z-codes, SS or RS badges by private parties unless it comes from factory as an RPO or trim level. The only exception to this has been when GM has outsourced to suppliers like SLP, but the key here is the factory was still controlling this and had a say in the content. The Z-code cars denote a certain level of performance that is expected by enthusiasts and RS is the same thing for cosmetics. When dealers do this, they cheapen the brand and Chevy doesn't sanction or condone it.
