Any verdict on the GM-Cert CAI?
I know I've read some posts here and there about the fairly new to market GM CAI but is it worth the money at all?
I want to stick with GM parts only for now (don't hound me about it.) So I was just wondering if anyone has one and what they think? Any increase at all in HP/TQ? OR decrease? Does it give a nice throatier sound to the car overall? Thanks! And if I did miss a thread about all this please just link me to it. But like I said, I've seen nothing detailed about the GM CAI specifically. Just the other ones on the market.

From what I've heard CAI and Exhaust will not be worth it alone. You would need to do all of it AND a tune to really see any kind of gains. |

I have the GM CAI and had the dealer do the associated tune. No other changes except for the NPP fuse pull. I think it sounds good and looks good. Easy to do. No dyno but I like how it runs runs.
This is the best price I found. https://www.shopchevyparts.com/perfo...-92297348.html

I've got the Chevrolet Performance CAI on my 2018 Redline, 2SS, 8 speed auto, convertible with Performance Exhaust. I purchased the Redline after selling my beloved 2015 Z28. The combination of the air intake and performance exhaust on the SS sounds wonderful with a seat of the pants feel as good or better than my Z car. I installed the air intake myself and had it tuned by the dealer. If you get it, be prepared for an attempt by the dealer to charge you for the tune, but take the directions along with you, and you'll win that argument because the tune is included in the price of the CAI. My feeling that my 2018 is fast was validated when I read the Forum thread from a guy who had nudged his stock SS vert into the 11's.

I brought in the instruction sheet to my dealer while I was getting an oil change and confirmed it wouldn't be a problem. Just make sure that you stress that they will be getting paid for their time, just not from your pocket. When I dropped the car off, I brought a copy of the instructions, which I then highlighted all the important bits of, and re-went over the process with them. They didn't charge me a dime. If your dealer doesn't let you get it for free after that, I'd find a different dealer.

Yes, no charge from the dealer for the tune. I scanned and emailed a copy of the instructions with the charge code to the service writer and confirmed no charge before taking it in.

GM CAI
I love it. The appearance is awesome and I feel a huge difference. On my 16 it really improved the throttle response. Plus I got a great deal on it & after the run around from my purchasing dealer I went to stingray Chevy and the crew there took care of everything. Very happy with it.
