CAI, headers, cat back and a tune.
Read lots of threads on individual mods and various combinations but can't figure this out. What is the expected HP gain range for a CAI, Headers with performance cats, x pipe, and a cat back with a tune. All bolt-ons without any engine work. My guess is around 475 at the back wheels. Anyone have this combination and what were your results?

Yeah, 475 at the wheels is not going to happen.

Thanks, that was the info I was looking for. Funny how it doesn't all add up to what you think it is. Lots of money for sure. Will probably stick with axle or cat backs and CAI.

I think you're confusing factory rated horsepower vs wheel horsepower. Factory rated is at the crank or engine. Through power train loss you will be less than that at the wheels. You're 475 guess would probably be near crank power for those mods, but definitely not wheel horsepower. If you have a L99 and those mods you're looking somewhere between 360-380 rwhp depending on the dyno. If you have a LS3 you're probably looking 400-420 rwhp, again depending on the dyno.

Well, you're talking "to the wheels" HP. Realize your car may be rate at 426 HP "at the flywheel", but that probably equates to 385-390 "to the wheels". If the mods you suggest convert to 435 "at the wheels", I'd be surprised.

Please don't make the common mistake of modifying the exhaust from the rear. Headers are the building block of all power pickups in the LS3. I will tell you that the additional power, tremendous improvement in throttle response and sweet sound I've created are well worth it. I had no prior experience modifying a Chevy V8--all was learned here, and it works, unfailingly. Listen, learn, act.
