redesigned or not, I think I will feel like a baby sitting in a love seat in these huge white seats with ugly 392 on them. |

I came pretty close to buying an 09 Challenger; the wife dissuaded me from that folly and I got my 2SS instead.
HOWEVER, I'm glad her wisdom prevailed 'cause the '11 SRT8 392s are much more refined. ...I'm dropping hints to her daily now that I've decided to sell my Ram1500... Any one want a truck? |

On the challenger I really liked it and at first wanted it more then the camaro but the cost comaprison was huge and my Saturn/Gm salesperson has always been up fornt and honest on all cars my family have bought over the years so I went with the camaro. Add to it... the camaros width and length are almsot identical to my old cudas. What can I say I am a Plymouth nut When and if They come out with the CUDA I will rethink it. Having a new gen cuda to go with my old ones would be great. |

The Challenger kind of came to the market half-baked, IMHO. It was done before Chrysler got bitch-slapped by Fiat. The 250hp/4-speed auto wasn't a competitive combo, and cutting and pasting the typical LX interior wasn't a smart move.
Now, they're finally putting in great engines. The V6 is due for the Pentastar 3.6 upgrade (if it hasn't already happened) and a 6-speed auto. The interior is/will be revamped. Can't wait to see a new NEW challenger in action |

The 2012 V6 Challengers are actually getting an 8 speed auto.

[QUOTE=1bad65;2849456]Why anyone buys those things is beyond me. Of the 3 muscle cars, its the last one I'd get if I was buying a V6. It has the most weight and the least hp. And the previous V6s were even worse, only 250hp and a 4-speed auto.
Ironically enough my girlfriend wants to replace her Ranger with a leased 2011 V6 Challenger. Total waste in my opinion but I'm not married to her and its HER money. Damn thing that gets me is that I have Camaro (cool car) and a Fiesta (economy car). The only thing thats missing is a truck and I love to marry into that rather into another impracticle inferior coupe that won't even be owned in the long run.

I know this obviously isn't a huge concern for this type of car but did the MPG go up for the new engine with the MDS?

I drove a non special eddition 392. It was the new orange color (not that great of a color IMO).
The seats were similar to the traditional SRT seats...not the white ones. Everything I heard was that the special editions would come out for 2011 and regular srt in 2012 but my local dodge dealer had one in his lot and called me as soon as he got it so I could take it for a spin. I drove an 2011 RT after the 392 for comparison purposes and it felt strong as well. The 392 is WAY faster than the SS. The new nav system is awsome as well. It is Garmin based. That is the one thing I dislike about the Camaro...no nav. I am sure GM will change this in the near future. |

It's really nice to read many of you complimenting the Challenger. It shows maturity and an appreciation for cars. Being an SRT owner, thank you.
I'm a member of challengertalk and I was complimenting on how great the ZL1 is and many there had a problem with my compliments for the Camaro. I love the SRT, but that ZL1 is going to be amazing. Can't wait to add it to the family! |
