Nope. If they have, we'd have generated an insane amount of video footage of it over the last ~10 years or so. There's what, around a billion smart phones in peoples pockets right now? And all (or nearly all) have the ability to geo-tag and time stamp a video, and upload it instantly to the internet where anyone can then re-distribute it. Mass sightings that are easily confirmed should have skyrocketed. And yet ... they haven't.

Just because somebody says they've seen something doesn't mean they actually saw what they say. That doesn't mean they're lying either. The lump of wrinkled meat inside our skull simply isn't perfect at interpreting information, let alone recalling it.

There is a seemingly innate desire among people to want to believe in something 'else'. Something beyond. Whether its religion, or the paranormal, or conspiracies, or aliens, or even the belief that science can (eventually) answer everything. As interest in one belief declines, another simply gets more popular. Whenever there is something that we experience that we can't understand or explain, we fall back on something that we feel is absolute and unquestionable. 30,000 years ago when a person saw something strange in the sky, it was a harbinger of doom. 3,000 years ago it was a signal from God. 300 years ago, it was a mystery. 30 years ago, it was a UFO.

They're getting canned because they're pieces of shit who think they're more important than the people around them. I don't really care what explanation exists in any individual case. Thats what it all ultimately boils down to. Whether its to be funny, or as a power play, or sexual satisfaction ... in the end, the person doing it thinks that what they want is more important than the dignity of the other person. And that makes them a piece of shit.

Most children understand this, at least to some degree. No adult has an excuse.

To be fair, anything you take with a phone, smart or not, makes the image look like it's a few million miles away.

I've got one like that but I've got everything else. I found something last week advertised as 'online only'. I called the store and they said that their orders need to be in by the end of store hours on Tuesday, for a Thursday night arrival, which works out to in-store pickup on Friday. Unfortunately, I found this out on Wednesday

So, either it comes in by Friday, or I have to go out and find a last minute replacement (and the store I ordered from gets an instantly returned item next week).
