Oil Filter Question

Which oil filter are we supposed to use on our Z51 C7 , owners manual says PF64, but somewhere it says to use UPF48R? Which one is correct ?

The PF64 is the correct, factory oil filter. The Mobil One M1-113 is also a great filter and meets or exceeds all GM requirements. I'm using the Mobil One.

It sounds as though you are planning to change your own oil. If that is the case, then you may as well use Mobil 1. As for what your dealer will use, the best thing is to go there and ask the service manager what they use. If they don't use Mobile 1 and that is what you want, ask what the upcharge is.

I do my own oil and filter changes and use Mobil One synthetic oil, 5-30W. It meets all the "Dexos" specs. I don't plan to have my dealer do the "free" oil changes that are offered for the first two years. For the small cost for the oil and filter I'll do it myself. A friend has a car lift in his heated garage so it's real easy to do this work.
