In regards to the door pocket boomerangs not being a darker colour, I am going to inquire about this for us. Please update this thread if anyone finds out something

edit: I was able to break down the 5-9 digits a little more (probably not breaking news, but it will help in determining check digits) 5th is trans/trims (a=1lt/m6 b=1lt/a10 c=2-3LT/m6, d=2-3LT/a10, e=LT1,1SS/m6 f=LT1/1SS/a10, g=2SS/m6 h=2SS/a10, i=not used so not confused with 1, j=ZL1/m6 k=ZL1/a10) 6-7 body (1R=Coupe 3D=Convertible) knowing this was 2 digits vs 1 will eliminate looking for 3R and 1D combos) 8 Engine (6=V8 s/c 7=V8 S=V6) 9 Check (varies based on modulo formula from the other digits) Annoyances: can't determine delta between 1SS/LT1 and 2/3LT from VIN w/out pulling the PDF to get the exact spec. At least with ZL1/CE we know what the 4 configs are, but if we know the highest/lowest serial #s for this year, we can determine trims for the others sequentially, which might lead to some interesting info on what got built when. I've used this official 2019 In the case of the ZLE CE J1R6 - Manual Coupe J3D6 - Manual Conv. K1R6 - Auto Coupe K3D6 - Auto Conv. With check digit "X" and 0~9 hence the 4*10 for every single VIN I check. (Model year for 2024 is "R") This is what I'm working with script-wise

It is easier, see below, and CPU is free these days anyway Okay, kidding aside, here is the official algorithm, the X means 10, because the calc includes a mod 11 operation (11 is a prime).

Definitely easier to pre-calculate it and ping 4 variations than ping the server 40 times. You can use this if you're just looking for a specific one. https://www.cjponyparts.com/resource...git-calculator Otherwise an algorithm is needed. Just have to use 1G1FJ3D, 1G1FK3D, 1G1FJ1R, and 1G1FK3R prefix as you don't know what was built. We know there is 69 convertibles being built so if we found all those then we could eliminate looking for 3D VIN's and just look for 1R's. |

Nope, That is a Nitro Yellow car, all the CE's are Panther Black Matte. Curious how it's also a General Motors LLC car. Maybe a demo to showcase the new colour? I thought I had found #4 by sorting by price. https://www.wolfechevrolet.com/inven...K1R62R0103699/ https://cws.gm.com/vs-cws/vehshop/v2...FK1R62R0103699 Then I realized they were charging MORE for a regular black ZL1 than other dealers were charging for a CE ZL1. my script is working and is pulling all the window stickers (running ZL1s now), and I've found 101 so far... interesting fact: I'm seeing the ones GM kept (1st one was xxx101 and it was yellow metallic)

I didn’t even think about it being a calculation even when it said calculated I glossed over it. Thank you for this, I’ll have to spend a while learning it and hopefully implementing. I hate math

Multiplier 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 10 0 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 pretty simple actually... the check digit is always *0 because you are trying to solve for that (letters have to be converted to digits using the last char of their position, so R is 19, so 9) I used a static # of 174 (covers 1G1F... +R for year), but you could do the same as above then I broke the SN down by character and then multiply in reverse by the digit... so 17=X*2, 16=X*3 15=X*4... engine code converts to 60 (6*10) on ZL1 you then sum up all the products to get a number then do mod 11 on that to get a remainder, if the remainder is 10, it translates to X as mentioned before. so in bash syntax on linux: prodsum=375 #just picked a random # chk=$((${prodsum}%11)) echo ${chk} should return 1 then you loop that thru the 4 configs (a10/m6 + coup/conv) and you should get 4 different VIN #s based on the last 6 of the VIN |

The interesting part that caught my eye is the series code 9... essentially they could be shipping any config to outside US/Can and you'd have to dig for 2 more VINs per SN on the ZL1 based on the body type, as they said 50 would be made for NON-US, but everyone assumed that meant Canada, but there could easily be a bunch going south of the border and riding a boat somewhere else. |
