It is interesting that with less than 3000 miles on the car the original owner choose to "Mod" the car by putting the Aluminum Offenhauser valve covers with extended spinner bolts to hold them down. Also the shifter knob is white instead of chrome and the adjustment bar for the alternator has been chromed. Now before you get hot under the collar, the original owner may have made these modifications during the 40+ years that he owned the car. I owned an original 67 Vette, 427/309HP, 4 Speed, A/C, Sidepipe car that won 5 NCRS Top Flight ribbons so I do know this model pretty well. The rest of the car does appear to be pretty original. It is a very nice car and I hope the new owners continue to preserve it as well as the original owner. No matter what, it is an interesting story, thanks Becky.
